ATP Hygiene Kit HS
and Lumitester C-100

LuciPac Pen and PD-20

Applications include:
Industrial food production facilities (including CIP)
Remedial action for HACCP in the food & beverage industry
Surface monitoring in hospitals, clinics, clean-rooms and pharmaceutical industry

Personnel hygiene check of medical staff
Training of cleaning personnel
Evaluation of new cleaning procedures, equipment and detergents

Principles:

Since all living cells contain ATP, the energy currency of the cell, one can estimate the amount of biological dirt by assaying ATP or its degradation product AMP. These methods do not differentiate between bacteria, other cells or extracellular ATP. Rather the assay shows that the surface or liquid sample contains biological material. This means that microorganisms will start to grow on the surface or in the liquid under suitable conditions. Hygiene control by ATP assay has been used for many years in the food industry and in hospitals. It is a very convenient way to find out if cleaning procedures are adequate and how to improve them. During food production ATP is partially degraded to AMP. Measuring ATP+AMP gives a measure of the entire biological material in the sample regardless of whether it is alive or not. ATP Hygiene Kit HS is delivered in dropper bottles to avoid pipetting steps. LuciPac Pen is an all-in-one device including swab and reagents. Please note that different luminometers must be used with the two kits.

Can you say it's clean with confidence?

The new and improved ATP Surface Hygiene Monitoring System, Lumitester PD-20, is now available from Kikkoman. Its small size and light weight, ease of use and rapid results makes it suitable for cleanliness control and hygiene training in a range of industrial settings and health care environments. Based on the unique detection of ATP plus AMP, its simple swab and measure method using the new LuciPac Pen swab, makes it possible to detect invisible contamination anywhere and anytime in only 10 seconds with super sensitivity. The easy to read display gives a clear reading of the level of contamination and results can be downloaded to a PC.
