Kinase RR Kit for HTS applications in Drug Development

The BioThema Kinase Reaction Rate Kit, or 111-021, Kinase RR Kit, is developed for the easy and reliable identification of protein kinase inhibitor candidates from large compound libraries. It uses direct bioluminescent measurement of ATP degradation rate to distinguish hits from non-hits. In contrast to other bioluminescent ATP based assays of kinase there is no interference from inhibitors acting on luciferase. Furthermore the standard curve is linear rather than sigmoidal, which means easier and more accurate interpretation. The Kinase RR Kit is flexible and can easily be adapted to various high throughput screening strategies. The main parameter of assay quality in high throughput screening is the Z’ factor, where values above 0.5 are normally required. The Kinase RR kit regularly gives Z’ values between 0.8 and 0.96. The assay does not require radioactive materials, antibodies or any form of conjugates.
